Vivax Metrotech RTK-Pro Utility Locator with Survey-Grade GNSS

vLoc3 RTK-Pro

£6,615.00

The vLoc3 RTK-Pro receiver is the first to add RTK GNSS accuracy to a utility locator. Using the RTK-Pro internal cellular module with 4G LTE capabilities, the operator has the ability to connect to NTRIP RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) caster that provides RTCM 3 corrections. By utilising these corrections, the operator can collect both utility location data along with the geographical location of the utility with survey-grade accuracy.

The RTK-Pro was designed for use at all operator levels, utilising user-friendly and intuitive locate screens. Operators simply confirm the utility data with the press of a button and align the electronic spirit level to store the data. All field data is sent to the cloud and retained in the receivers onboard storage for review and exporting to external mapping programs.

The highly user-configurable vLoc3 series contains eight passive locate modes, fault find mode, SD (showing the direction of outgoing current), and a range of configurable frequencies from 98Hz to 200 kHz. Visual and mechanical vibration alerts can also be configured by the user providing warnings for shallow depth, overload, overhead cables, and excessive swinging. Optional features include Tx-Link that enables the user to change the frequencies of the transmitter, power output and operate most of the features of the transmitter remotely.

Key Features
  • Fully-integrated RTK GNSS
  • One-hand locating and mapping
  • Cloud-based data management
  •  Survey-grade GNSS Accuracy
  • Simplistic locating modes
  • Reduces multiple field equipment

MyLocator3 App

Manage a single or fleet of vLoc3 series utility locators with the free MyLocator3 app. Configure locators by turning on or off features, selecting which frequencies the user has access to and creating custom startup screens. When the locator is connected to a computer running the MyLocator3 software, the program will automatically search our database for the latest software for both the utility locator and desktop application. The utility locator connects to the computer running MyLocator3 by supplied USB cable.

  • Data transfer  MyLocator3 app will download the data collected from the locator including a timestamp, GPS coordinates, depth measurements, current on the line, and notes entered at the time of locate.
  • Software updates – MyLocator3 checks for locator software updates and app software updates whenever connected to internet.
  • Personalize – Add owner/user information, a background picture or logo, or a short message to the startup screen.

VMMap App

When used with Bluetooth enabled Vivax-Metrotech receivers, the VMMap Utility Mapping app records data from the field which is instantly available online via the VMMap Cloud web portal or can be shared by using the email function in the app. Location data is obtained from the mobile phone, or an external GPS device of your choice. Depth readings, GPS coordinates, the distance between locates and more are captured as data logs and can be saved as xls, txt, shp, and kml extension files. The data is compatible with Google Maps, Asset Management, and GIS software.

The image capture feature in the app allows the user to attach a JPEG format image to the surveys. This is useful to add points of interest or a snapshot of the completed survey. Access the image files and all the data captured in the app in the VMMap Cloud web portal or email it from within the app.

The VMMap app generates maps in real time, giving confidence to the field technician that the data being collected is accurate.

  • Uses both Google and Apple Maps
  • Low and high GPS accuracy settings
  • Plug-and-play Bluetooth pairing to receivers
  • Export to various file types for use with popular GIS programs
  • Compatible with Google Maps, Asset Management, and GIS software
  • Show multiple utilities on one map with colour-coded utility drop pins

The VMMap Mobile application is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

VMMap Web Portal

The VMMap Web Portal is the cloud-based side to the VMMap utility mapping app. Locate information such as depth readings, GPS coordinates, the distance between locates, current on the line and more are captured and displayed in the web portal. The web portal’s data is compatible with Google and Apple Maps, Asset Management, and GIS software.

The VMMap Web Portal consists of three sections. They are the Surveys, Analysis and Admin sections.

Survey – The Survey section shows all the records that have been uploaded from the vLoc series receivers. This section can merge multiple entries into a single record, create Google or Apple maps, filter records, and sort records. Currently, three formats of CSV, KML and SHAPE are supported.

Analysis – A plethora of analysis options are available in the VMMap Web Portal. Some of these are surveys by a team, surveys by a user, readings by record type, readings by utility type, readings by frequency and locator usage time.

Administration – In this section, a designated company administrator can add, delete, and organize users and teams. The vLoc series locator receivers can also be managed in this section. Based on the serial number of the receivers, they can be allocated or reallocated to different users.

  • Simple overview of all surveys
  • Map Viewer – View Apple or Google maps in street or satellite view.
  • Export to various file types for use with GIS software
  • Intuitive organization of your teams and users including statistics
